We are a group of Motorcycle, Food, Beer, and Live Music Enthusiasts that decided to put our ideas together and create a Venue here in the Quad Cities we knew we would love, and we hope You love too!
Owner Virgil Richardson, along with former business partner David Jarrin, took a popular venue (the former Rusty Nail) in Davenport, Iowa—rich with history—and completely redesigned it from top to bottom to enhance the overall experience. Nearly every aspect of the building was upgraded, including the sound system, kitchen, bathrooms, fixtures, bar, and draft beer system.
We searched the globe for unique decorative themes and, working with our design team, created a one-of-a-kind venue featuring an award-winning custom motorcycle on display, artwork, guitars, a retail store, a diamond-plated bar, dance floor, outdoor patio with a covered pavilion, games, and a fantastic Asian fusion menu. We are constantly upgrading our patio area, which now features a fully completed outdoor stage for live performances.
We also recruited an advisor with over 40 years of bar and restaurant management experience to help design the space and bring our vision to life. Terry, or “T-Bone” as we call him, managed and trained staff in large venues across Los Angeles, Hollywood, and Maui, and brought that expertise to help make this a true destination spot. Virgil is also a musician and co-owner of an electronics store in the Quad Cities called Entertainment Expressions, which specializes in selling, designing, and installing residential and commercial audio/video systems. Creating a powerful, high-quality sound system in the venue was essential, and we’ve paired it with a professional stage lighting system to ensure every live performance is unforgettable.
Our Thai food menu is authentic and well-loved among our circle of friends. For years, people encouraged Chef Puey to open a restaurant, with many even offering to invest in a food truck to share her cooking with the public. After much encouragement, her incredible dishes are now available for everyone to enjoy here at Gypsy Highway. She is 100% Thai and brings true authenticity to every dish. If you enjoy Thai food, you’ll love what we offer here at Gypsy Highway. We also serve popular American favorites, including steaks, pastas, and our 1/2 lb Prime Rib Burgers that are sure to satisfy.
